Brandon's First Birthday Party - June 29, 2002

We held Brandon's first birthday party in our backyard on Saturday, June
29th. We were very happy that lots of friends and family were able to
attend. The party had a tropical/jungle theme, so we told everyone to wear
Hawaiian shirts and we handed out leis to all of our guests. We decorated
our deck & yard with palm trees, flowers and tropical animals. We set up a
pool, sprinkler and playset for the kids and made hamburgers and hot dogs on the
grill. Brandon had a great time playing with his friends, destroying his
1st birthday cake and opening all of his presents!

- Family!- We were excited to have most of our
family attend Brandon's birthday party.

- Friends!- We are very lucky to have a lot of
young kids in our neighborhood...Brandon has lots of friends his own age!
|

- The Cake! - Brandon had a great time
destroying his first piece of birthday cake!

- The Presents!- Brandon's received lots of
cool toys at his party.

Christie's parents, sisters, brother-in-law & cousin came to Charlotte to
join in the festivities. They arrived Saturday afternoon to help us with
the party preparations (We couldn't have done it without them!) and left after
the party to drive to the beach. Bryan's sister and her family also made
an appearance and left the next day.

On Kim Hester's recommendation, we ordered Brandon's first birthday cake
from Hansel & Gretel bakery. They made a big cake for our guests and
a little personal cake for Brandon. The decorations were great and the
cake was delicious! Brandon was hesitant with his cake at first, but then
he dug in and destroyed the whole thing!!
