Montana Ski Trip 2002

Gordon invited several of us up to Montana for a long ski weekend.  It was a blast, despite several injuries...

The weather was great the first day...you could almost ski in shorts!  Gordon was cut short by an injury received during a fall on a steep mogul run. He hurt his shoulder and was taken down the mountain in a toboggan by the Ski Patrol at Bridger Bowl. The next day, we traveled to Big Sky, where the runs are much longer and the lifts are faster. The day was again plagued by an injury, this time Bryan's ski popped off during a fall and he landed on the sharp edge. The damage was immediately noticeable by the 4 inch cut in the ski pants and the blood in the snow. Bryan skied down the rest of the slope and waited for the Ski Patrol. They took him back up to the top and down in a toboggan.  He received 8 stitches in a cut muscle and 30 in the skin on his right leg. Here is a picture of the leg for those who care to see gory stuff. The third day was great...everyone skied again at Big Sky in 12 inches of powder, even Bryan! Nothing can stop a skier when there's that much powder!

Gordon lost it on last mogul of a steep run while trying to chase Jason's skis (he wiped out too...) and hurt his upper arm pretty bad.
