Germany Trip - May 23rd, 2002

Tuesday October 04, 2005
This was our first cold and rainy day, but we continued our sightseeing
despite the weather.
Our first stop of the day was the
Haigerloch castle. We realized how cold it was during the long walk to and from the
castle.
Christie was unprepared as usual, wearing capri pants & sandals! Next we
visited the Hohenzollern castle and toured the grounds there. Our final
stop of the day was the university town of Tuebingen. We walked around the
town and stopped in a cafe for coffee & apple streudel to warm up!
Here's a quick menu to the various pictures sets:

Burg Hohenzollern is the ancestral seat of the
Hohenzollern family and was remodeled in 1850-67. Only the 15th century
St. Michael Chapel survives from the original fortress.

Tuebingen is the home of one of southern Germany's three most famous
universities. It was founded in 1477 by Count Eberhard the Bearded.
